I just took my 2nd NAD+ test from donotage.org. When they give you the NAD+ results, they also provide zinc, magnesium, and selenium results.
What were the updated results and how do they compare to last time?
Zinc: 45 ug/gHb vs. 59 ug/gHb. My levels have fallen, which is not ideal. However they are still within the reference range of 38-98 µg/gHb.
Magnesium: 308 ug/gHb vs. 360 ug/gHb. This has also fallen and is no longer within the reference range of 330-570 µg/gHb.
Selenium: 0.92 ug/gHb vs 0.8 ug/gHb. This has increased and is now well within the reference range of 0.75-1.7 µg/gHb.
Will I make any changes based on these results?
Yes.
I am currently taking a multi vitamin & mineral supplement that contains zinc and selenium. I am however not impressed with these results, so when I have finished it, I will switch to a different brand (unless the results are up at the next test). I have also started taking a magnesium supplement.
What’s next?
Do you have eye floaters? I do, and to try to reduce or remove them, I have started following a simple home remedy: Eating pineapple every day. Next week, I will give you an update on this.
For any new readers: I am trying to live to (at least) 151. To get there, I follow 2 main principles:
Live a super-healthy life (based on what science deems positive for longevity)
Measure what’s going on in my body and tune any metrics that are off to become optimal
I also summarize interesting news and stories from the longevity space. And I share everything worth sharing with you.
If you enjoyed this newsletter, I would be very grateful if you gave it a ‘like’ (the ❤️ at the top).
Have a good day,
Johan
