Last week, I explained the importance of B vitamins.
And today, I will show you my levels of vitamin B1, B2, B3, and B6.
Why am I checking these vitamins now?
2 key reasons:
1) In this newsletter, I mentioned that I wanted to try to increase my testosterone level by optimizing the key drivers of testosterone. Vitamin B1, B2, B3, and B6 are all such key drivers.
2) Also, I am doing various NAD+ experiments with donotage.org and B3 is one of the most important drivers of NAD+, so I wanted to see whether I have a B3 deficiency or not.
Here are my test results:
Vitamin B1: 6 µg/dL (Normal range = 3,6 - 9,7 µg/dL)
Vitamin B2: 166,1 µg/L (Normal range = 137 - 370 µg/L)
Vitamin B3: 107,6 µg/L (Normal range = 10 - 65 µg/L)
Vitamin B6: 30,1 µg/L (Normal range = 16 - 64 µg/L)
All of these are good, except B3, which is significantly above the normal range.
Why?
It is probably because I consume a lot of peanut butter 😂. Is it a concern? Not really, since vitamin B3 is water-soluble and the body can quite easily get rid of excess amounts.
Based on these tests, no further action is taken. Very soon I will have completed tests of all key testosterone drivers, and I will then return to this topic.
Also, I just completed my first of three NAD+ experiments. I have done intermittent fasting for 60 days, and this morning I took a new NAD+ test. I should get my results shortly and will then update you.
What’s next?
Next week I will update you on interesting news in the longevity world.
For any new readers: I am trying to live to (at least) 151. To get there, I follow 2 main principles:
Live a super-healthy life (based on what science deems positive for longevity)
Measure what’s going on in my body and tune any metrics that are off to become optimal
I also summarize interesting news and stories from the longevity space. And I share everything worth sharing with you.
If you enjoyed this newsletter, I would be very grateful if you gave it a ‘like’ (the ❤️ at the top).
Have a good day,
Johan
